Kathy Hankel has been actively involved in all aspects of nursing education for 38 years.   She has been a Faculty Member, Course Coordinator, Director, Curriculum Committee Chair, and most recently, Dean of Health and Natural Sciences.

Her 28 years of accreditation experience with NLN/NLNAC and currently ACEN, includes roles as team member, team chair, mentor, member of the 2008 Standard review/revision committee, candidacy consultant, and current member of the Evaluation Review Panel.

Kathy has served on the Editorial Board of “Teaching and Learning in Nursing”, the official publication of OADN.  She has been an item writer for the NCLEX-RN exam as well as member of the NCLEX-RN Panel of Content Experts.  Kathy has written and administered several grants as well as published and presented at National and Regional conferences.

Kathy has been a consultant for many nursing programs across the country since 1991 in the areas of curriculum development, accreditation, administration, student affairs, and faculty development.

She currently serves as an NLN consultant for the Centers of Excellence program.  Kathy is also co-founder of the non-profit organization, Honoring Choices Massachusetts.
