An editorial in Chief Healthcare Executive is a call to arms for the nation's policy leaders, healthcare providers, and nursing programs to join forces to solve the nursing shortage. 

Sean Burke, President, Healthcare – Ascend Learning and ATI Nursing Education, wrote the piece in an effort to bring attention to the mounting pressures that are overwhelming today's current nurse workforce.  

"Right now, nurses are being asked to take on more and more simply because there are not enough nurses to help lighten the load," Burke writes. "The severe national nurse shortage facing our country today is a crisis that demands long-term solutions."
