Description & Objectives:
This session was recorded live at the 2018 ATI National Nurse Educator Summit in Salt Lake City, UT. This session is presented by Nelda Godfre, PhD, ACNS-BC, FAAN.  1 CNE will be provided upon completion. Attendees must submit a completed evaluation of the educational activity to receive their CNE certificate. The purpose of this session is to explore how professional identity is both formed and fostered in today’s educational and healthcare environments. Focusing on nursing, this session will examine the current understanding of professional identity and the evidence-based strategies that can underscore the need for and benefits of explicitly including professional identity formation in nursing education.
