Description & Objectives:
This session was recorded live at the 2018 ATI National Nurse Educator Summit in Salt Lake City, UT. This session is presented by Karen H. Morin, PhD, RN, ANEF, FAAN. 1 CNE will be provided upon completion. Attendees must submit a completed evaluation of the educational activity to receive their CNE certificate. This interactive session provides an opportunity to explore what it means to be a mentor as well as how to find a mentor. Participants are invited to share their thoughts and experiences while gaining an appreciation of what are the most common themes in the literature. Specific strategies for being a mentor as well obtaining a mentor will be shared.
Objective:
- Distinguish between the disciplinary context.
- Describe benefits of mentoring relationship.
- Discuss at least two strategies to help find a mentor.
