Description & Objectives:
This session was recorded live at the 2018 ATI National Nurse Educator Summit in Salt Lake City, UT. This session is presented by Nadine Parise, MS, RNC-OB, CNE & Leann Horsley, PhD, RN, CHSE, CNE.  1.5 CNE's will be provided upon completion. Attendees must submit a completed evaluation of the educational activity to receive their CNE certificate. This presentation will provide information on the Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS) development and conceptual model with four pillars that support the three domains of learning.  TeamSTEPPS tools and strategies as well as available resources will be discussed.  The mapping of TeamSTEPPS within an individual course and throughout curricula will be described with special consideration for program length, type, and settings.  Participants will leave this session with knowledge of how to integrate TeamSTEPPS into their curricula.
 
Objective:
  • Differentiate the Four TeamSTEPPS® framework pillars which support the three domains of learning.
  • Identify one tool/strategy within each pillar.
  • Describe appropriate mapping of TeamSTEPPS® strategies within an individual course and throughout the curricula.
  • Discuss additional TeamSTEPPS® resources for implementation, integration and evaluation.
